“WAX. PIGMENT. FIRE.” will be an exhibition showcasing diverse techniques in encaustic art.
I invite you to investigate my art and explore; the building up of layers, the carving down of layers, the melting, the scraping, the colors, the burns, the sheens, and everything in between the layers - all of the many things that make this medium so interesting and fun to work with.
This exhibition represents a significant next step in my artistic journey. It is both a personal milestone and a public presentation designed to introduce and educate audiences about the encaustic medium. Viewers will be engaged with material investigation and aesthetic curiosity as my collection will showcase a wide range of techniques.
WHAT IS ENCAUSTIC ART?
The encaustic painting technique uses heated, molten beeswax mixed with damar resin and colored (oil) pigments. Applied to surfaces like wood, the wax cools instantly, requiring each layer to be "burned in" or fused with a heat gun or torch, creating luminous, durable, and dimensional artwork.

THANK YOU!
This series of work has been made possible with support from the Broward County Cultural Division @BrowardArts
There is also support throughout our local arts community ❤️ including the Sobra Collective @sobracollective which has provided a great network of local creatives to thrive with.
Thanks to all of you for your part in my journey - and I hope to see your faces at my show :)
